Romania – a bike packing adventure

Have you ever heard about Romania? Yes, it’s one of those countries where all the gipsies and tricksters come from, which we know so well from our streets and pubs in Berlin. RadRace Fixed42 – The Story of a painful journey

This past sunday’s been exciting! Rad Race’s inofficial Fixed Gear World Championships took place on our playground – the streets of Berlin! It’s a 42km Point-to-Point Race starting in the south of Berlin and going all the way right through the heart of the city, ending at the Brandenburger Tor on closed roads! 700 starters! All of them on track bikes! Without brakes! Sounds crazy? It was!

Red Hook Crit Brooklyn No.10

It’s was the second time that Mess Pack Berlin was attending the famous Red Hook Crit in Brooklyn. Jojo finished with his best result on 20th position and Hagen came in 53 in the last chance race. This race is a special  in many ways. It’s where fixed gear criterium racing started. Ten years ago in the harbor neighborhood of “Red Hook” – district in Brooklyn, New York after which the famous racing series is named.

We started March with a busy weekend. With the Rad Race last wo/man standing a great race day was on. As part of Berliner Fahrradschau with many different events, races and rides a lot of people, we love to hang out, made it to Berlin. Our main focus however focus was this incredible fixed gear race on a indoor go-kart track.

Rad Race at Six Day Berlin

This years Six Day Berlin race in the velodrome was a special one. We were no longer spectators – we were part of it! For the first time in its long history it was possible to race on the track without being a pro rider! The guys from Rad Race set up an elimination race as an addition to the official Six Day Berlin program and we were part of it!
